Adron is experienced in the design and manufacture of tooling, prototypes and precision parts for every industry. It isn’t always readily apparent that a job is better suited to wire EDM than other machining processes. We are always happy to discuss your projects with you. Wire EDM unlocks the potential to design parts for better function, without the restrictions of other metalworking processes. Many jobs with runs of 50 to 50,000 pieces are candidates for our production wire EDM service, but because wire EDM does not require expensive tooling, a need for just a few parts is not a limitation, nor is a requirement for hundreds of thousands. You really have to call us and discuss you requirements to know for sure whether wire EDM is best in your case.
Our electrical discharge machines operate 24/7 and at high speeds up to 33 sq. in. per hour. Each of our 50+ wire EDM machines logs an average of 70+ hours of cutting time per week. To give you an idea how many wire EDM jobs we complete, each year we consume enough wire to circle the Earth 2.5 times. We have further minimized delivery times by negotiating agreements with various shippers.

Sinker EDM - 5-Axis Conventional EDM - Small Hole EDM Drilling – Rapid Prototyping – Production Wire EDM
Sinker EDM, also called cavity type EDM or volume EDM, consists of an electrode and workpiece submerged in an insulating liquid. In Sinker EDM, a graphite, copper tungsten or pure copper electrode is machined into the desired (negative) shape and fed into the workpiece on the end of a vertical ram. More…
5-Axis Conventional EDM
The EDM process is most widely used by the mould-making tool and die industries, but is becoming a common method of making prototype and production parts, especially in the aerospace, automobile and electronics industries in which production quantities are relatively low. More…
Small Hole EDM Drilling
Small hole EDM, for example, is used to drill rows of holes into the leading and trailing edges of turbine blades used in jet engines.

Because wire EDM reduces or eliminates fixture and tooling costs, and parts can be immediately in production, it is well suited to prototyping. More…
Production Wire EDM
As the largest wire EDM job shop in North America, Adron can easily handle huge production EDM jobs that would overwhelm the capacity of four or five average-size shops put together. More…
